If you’re at 50% milk line (call it R5.5), call it quits. Anything before that, there’s quite a bit of yield left on the table. Can fly on generic quilt xl for $15.52/ac (that includes app).

In case everyone has forgotten, R5 is a long stage of the corns life and is very important. 50% of the crops final yield is still on the table at the beginning of that stage. With the availability of cheap fungicides, don’t be afraid to spend the money to finish the race. These crops cost way too much money to give them up in the 4th quarter.

Don’t take a knee and run out the clock, run up the score.
