Guy that use to background for us said he lost 200. Said another guy lost 600. Wowsa that’s as bad as it gets. I’m just sick losing 5. Pry way more dropping then we will ever hear about. Way more ways to lose feeding cattle then row cropping.
A friend is in a text group with a bunch of people from South Dakota. The initial number for one feedlot was 690. A bit later, it was revised to 1,050.
One poster on X said that producers with losses should contact their FSA office. They may have some type of program available to help to some extent. That may cover losses on the farm. There were deads on the truck en route to the plant, too. |
