ECIL | got me thinking, what is a good level for cholesterol? The reason for my question: A couple years ago I had my blood tested and the doc wanted to prescribe a statin because my number was 132 and the "top" level was 130. I said "no". A year later I had another test and was told my level went up because the "top" level was 120. It seems to me at one time the "top" was 300. My wife went on a statin and had some bad side effects. She had different bad side effects after trying a different statin. I have no idea what either of them were but have no desire to have irritability, fatigue, nausea, confusion, etc. because of being so slightly above the "top" or because of a downsliding "top".
I'm not up on much of anything regarding health, hence the question. But I don't take any type of medication unless you include the occasional antacid tablet. | |
