 Reread all three of your posts.  Make sure grandson is paying close attention to retirement. There are no, or darned few, traditional pensions anymore. All 401k or similar. Once you are done making the big bucks it is too late to learn about retirement. Union or not, you have to think years ahead, and that is hard to fully understand when you are young.
 35 years in public utility, union job. That pension is nice, but so is that 401K. Without advise from some wise older folks, I know several union guys who would not have as nice 401k as they do.
