ECIL | I refuse to use GPS. I find the screen and voice very distracting. I think it usually gives poor directions (why should I have to use 3 different routes to go to the same location 3 different times??) and find it easier to look up my route and write it down. I can remember that a lot easier. I'm sort of the same with phone numbers, rarely ever look up a number on my cell using Contacts. I can remember a number most of the time.
Some tech is very beneficial while some becomes a crutch. And the crutch becomes a dependency that didn't exist before. Call me old school but it helps keeping the mind sharp. | |
