| I got laid off from the power company at 23 in 1974. I signed up at the local college for 500 bucks to a 4 week truck driving school. I had already driven some on the farm so the school was easy for me. Got hired in shortly after the school to a large freight carrier and worked there for 35 years. Always worked a sixty hour week but was home most every night. Raised for kids and made enough to play farmer and retirered at 58 with a good pension.
trucking was good to me but unfortunately things aren't the same now days. | |
