| Did the JD 214 W have different knotter set ups?
To explain it was wire tie with a twist on each end. The tie looked lke a gear driven outside teeth with a slot where the wires twisted closer to the center. Tbe whole gear was hardened but not hard enuff. It wore the slot a few thousands and that made the wire stick and miss a tie. That gear didnt last very long and needed changed. They quit making that part when the 348 ws model came out which was the single twist which helped wear of double twist. I always thought it should work to adapt a 348 knotter system to a 214 w baler
