| Great uncle had the 116 John deere wire tie. There's a picture of the farm yard (now my dad's) where there was a stack of gotta be over 500 square bales from that baler between the old barn and the quonset south of the house. I think dad was still using it when he had cattle in high school. Later dad bought a 273 New holland and that's what we ran for ever. Spent a few afternoons making square bales with that behind the same A John Deere that pulled the 116.
And then i belong to an old farming club that has a 14T just to make some small squares to clean up what loose hay doesn't get put in the barn with the slings. One year we pitched straw out of the threshing stack and made straw squares with it. Had a Super H farmall on it for power. | |
