No going back to this for all the obvious and stated reasons…..but damn, those 50 cow dairies were good for the soil in my part of the country. Driftless region. Alternating 90’ strips of corn and hay on a contour. Waterways maintained. Some grazing on steeper fields. The corn, oats, hay rotation. The old guys had it right.
