We need more electric generation, specifically we need more base load generation. We don't specifically need more solar panels.
More base load generation would be much much more useful than more solar panels. Base load generation is what is used to drive industry and the economy. Every incentive to build wind and solar disincentivizes building base load generation.
The best thing to do concerning incentives to build generation, is let the market take care of it. Let the market decide what to build, not the govt. The govt screws up everything it touches.
