E718 - 7/28/2026 07:24 Consider I-380 to Cedar Rapids and 30 to Ames. They are making that stretch 3 lanes so there are some overnight closures to lift bridge beams and such. Otherwise the route is just too busy all the time.
The stretch from Iowa City to Cedar Rapids on 380 has some construction right now and it's a MESS with traffic.
We avoid that at nearly all costs.
I'd stick to the original plan of Mt Pleasant to Prairie City and N to Hwy 30
