My thoughts are is that the GMAC lien was paid off years ago and the lien release card (that should have been stapled to the title) has long ago been lost. If money is still owed on the vehicle, the auction company and/or the estate will have to pay any money owed before the lien be released. As another forum user replied it might take proof of executor paperwork and a copy of the titled owners death certificate....or you may be able to resolve the issue yourself but I doubt it.

If executor paperwork and proof of death is needed, pass the contact information that you have found onto the auction company and estate.
