New London, Wisconsin | Some lien holders get pretty lazy about releasing an item. They don't like to pay the release fee, and told me it drops away after ten years. Apparently that is not true. When I retired I went through everything to make sure all liens were gone. No debt at that point. My combine showed an old lien from Case and they never did anything about releasing it. Even after calls requesting it. Fortunately I am a good record keeper and I still had the "paid off " letter from them. This is more common than you would think.
