We owned a little GM and Ford stock many years ago. My Dad came to work one day, said he thought we'd better sell our GM stock. Figured they were going bankrupt. Seemed hard to believe then- but GMAC was the only division they had making money. And they sold it. Sure sign of bigger problems in his mind. Glad we got out of it when we did.....
GMAC is now Ally. Happened in 2010 via a IPO. I'm assuming they bought the assets as well as the debt.
