When I was 12 our family went on a bike trip with a group called OutSpoken, we did 50 miles everyday, and 1 day 75. 5 groups of 5 plus a guide. No one was a "biker"  they had a support trailer wall our "stuff" and they went ahead to each stop and prepared meals. Also 2 motorcycles would make loops, in case anyone needed help. Biked across Michigan, ended on Mackinaw Island
