Hooker Twp,Ne | I’m not in dakotas but se nebr. Starting to see some lazy root syndrome. We had wet when corn was growing and roots didn’t need to go down. Now it turned dry and except for abt 3 days now we’ve had 90 to 100 degree temps. Last couple days of hot weather and corn plants were getting the yellow type tint to them. The plants have tasseled and ears out but now can’t get to needed nutrients and moisture down deep. Leaves us with the lazy root syndrome. After tomorrow the temps are supposed to get backup near 100. Not a real good situation. Time will tell on yield but expect top yields off and weather in future will tell how much lower we go. We could use inch plus rain but the chances keep getting slimmer. | |
