I would change the oil and add the additive package myself, just to make sure.
FYI, I had a gentleman working for me that had worked at a GM dealership doing oil changes etc.
He was supposed to change the oil in my pickup. He told me he took the oil pan drain plug out and no oil came out. I crawled underneath and he had taken out 3 bell housing bolts.
