Subject: B series cummins pump timing.

I am working on a cummins 6bt. I have the front timing cover off and noticed that someone has marked the gears and installed them with the pump marks off by two teeth. The cam timing is correct just the pump. This engine has a Bosch A pump. On a A pump the pump does have slots so that the pump can be twisted to change timing a little. This engine always ran perfectly and would start down to 0*f without starting fluid. Just wondering why they would have done this.
