Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Those transmissions are not supposed to shift to the higher gears when the transmission oil is cold. This has happened to me a few times when my oil has been cold. This is with an 8310, 8120 and 8310R. Once my oil gets warmed up, mine shift normally. This only happens in colder weather and is never an issue during the Summer months.

Sounds as if yours does this quite often even in moderate temperatures. I would suspect a problem with the oil temperature sensor or wiring that may be indicating cold oil inappropriately to the system. I have not had any problems with the sensor or wiring myself.

This cold lockout feature applies to the higher gears you mention. If you don't have problems in the lower gears, I doubt it is a clutch issue.
