1992 Ford L8000
7.8L 6 speed manual (3.91 rear axle) 180K miles
I have the IH now but looking at the Ford. The truck struggles a bit getting a 26' hopper rolling and showing it's age in a few places as well. Truck is from Florida and is spotless. Ford is clean as well. Runs are 6 miles or less, total miles per year is under 200. Taking a look at the Ford possibly this week Tell me what you think. As far as tires, I would put the best of the best on what ever truck I und up with, my IH has very good rubber currently.
Assuming the ford is priced well and is a good truck, buy it and put it in the shed until the IH cannot go anymore.
Likely the cheapest long term option for your situation.
