| The PARANI seller explained the reason for the failure:
As I can see, you're trying to connect to a Galaxy S24.
Unfortunately, the Galaxy S24 (as most other Android devices) doesn't support the Bluetooth SPP (Serial Port Profile) for data communication, which is the ONLY profile the SD1000 supports. So, there is no way to connect directly, which results in the error message you experienced. Google has removed native SPP support a long time ago. Current Android devices connect via Bluetooth Audio, HID (Keyboards), or other BLE-only protocols.
However, there might be a workaround using an additional Terminal APP such as "SENA BTerm", "Serial Bluetooth Terminal", "Bluetooth Terminal", "BT Superterminal", "BlueTerm", “BT SPP" or others. Still, please be aware that all of them operate primarily using AT commands.
I tried installing the mentioned applications, but they occupy the Bluetooth connection, causing Lefebure to report a "Bluetooth port busy" error.
Before I completely give up on this Trimble retrofit, I'll look for an old smartphone.
