They have caliper mounts on these axles. That isn't the issue, it's whether or not I can hold them on in this fashion.
Another idea I had was to just use a hydraulic line, with an inline shutoff valve- but I would need to lower the pressure from 3k to 1k or so, from what I gather, so that gets more complicated.
Is there any way to set the brakes like trucks do, ie, spring applied with either hydraulics or air releasing them? I’ve grown to dislike trailers that roll away on me. I’ve got a homemade header trailer and a grain trailer that are going to be converted to spring applied parking brakes. The one is easy, it uses standard semi axles and will get 30/30 spring cans, the header trailer uses a hydraulic brake steering axle off an 80s GM truck. That one will probably get a different axle we can work with.
Lucas Girling axles used on juice brake trucks had a spring applied park, and an auxiliary pump released them. In your case, spring applies the park and you plug in tractor hydraulics to release them, or an auxiliary pump mounted on the trailer?
