Subject: RE: incommand 800 swath control spraying

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Concerning Boundaries: Boundaries are not required but highly recommended. The reason being that with a Boundary, the InCommand then "knows" how large the field really is and will adjust its mapping scale correctly. Without a Boundary, the system needs to guess how large the field is. Sometimes a GPS flyer (incorrect GPS point) gets involved. With a Boundary the system will disregard it. Without a Boundary the system will shrink the map scale so it appears that the field has disappeared. However, auto swath still works but the operator may believe there is a problem.

As the previous reply indicates, waiting to open the field until you are actually at or near the field is often useful but again does nt really explain your problem.

So even if you are not using a boundary on that troublesome field, I would expect auto swath to work there. Since you say it has lots of point rows, I guessing that the field may be bordered by trees or other obstacles which may be preventing GPS reception.

Are you certain that auto swath was active as indicated by the auto swat icon on the lower right portion of the screen?

Did you check the GPS status when the problem occurred?
