Same deal on Gator. The China made ones are not all the same. It is anyones guess which is the best and even the good ones generally have a crippling fault.

I had a cheap one fail and when I tore it apart the inside was basically perfect but there was no rubber seal in the starter drive/solenoid pivot area. It filled up with straw and hay and the solenoid could not move it. A very good product that failed because it lacked a 5 cent part. I don't think it was supposed to have a seal either. They probably did not realize a Kawasaki flywheel is open to the elements. Since it was welded together there was no way to fix it.
