Is the salt causing it or the cattle treating the ground like a salt lick after cleaning up the feed? I've built some salt/mineral licks to attract deer and they'll dig/paw lick a hole 2' deep in a summer.

Wouldn't think the salt on the chips would be left behind in a quantity enough to harm the grass if they were cleaning the feed up pretty quickly.


Its the ration. They dont go after salt, they get more than enough in their feed. We are having our mineral custom mixed with zero salt.
