| Hay in a day is possible. I have done it on several occasions but you have to pick your day and your crop. I’ve never done it with 1st cutting. Some second and third though, that’s decent tonnage but not ungodly heavy.
Pick a day that’s hot and low humidity always helps, I wide swath it with my macdon r113, around 9:30 to ten, rake it around 4 and bake it around 7. Usually has a dm content in the 50-60 range. Like I say never done it in early spring or fall, definitely a summer thing for me, and sure haven’t done it right after 7” of rain. | |
