Truck is likely set up for direct drive transmission. The lower gears will also be a lower ratio to compensate.
A DT12 might have a ratio of 14.93 in the low hole. That would be equivalent to a Roadranger 13 spd with a low ratio of 12.31 and having a rear end ratio of 3.38, assuming the same size tires.
