Probably need to verify the model of what particular transmission. Reason I say this as the ratio for each will be a little different even the same say Eaton Endurant line. Top gear may be 1:1 direct or may be overdrive for highway efficiency. As long as manual setting is available you shouldn't be concerned, however we have Freightliners with there Freightliner transmission that won't allow manual mode. Most of the KW, Pete and International with Eaton Endurant will allow you to drive in manual.

Not familiar with Volvo/ Mack but seem similar, you need manual feature. Also remember need to keep your foot off of the brake as to not confuse the automated part. Very good YouTube videos on correct way to drive em out there.
