Do you run the silage through your own operation or market the silage?


We run it through our own operation. A few neighbors on irrigated ground do advertise silage for sale however. I have no idea how successful they are at selling silage however.

We figured if we can get half of what they do on irrigated ground that would still be worth it and we got more than half of what they got on irrigated ground last year.

There are alot of short season, very drought tolerant, high tonnage varieties out there anymore. You just battle the frost on when you start chopping.
