"If there wasn't a usda report impending they might have been .30 higher." Not a chance thats true. Report or not, the market will move if justified. USDA reports just provide nice scapegoats.
"Why are the markets usually VERY quiet on big report days?" Not sure the data backs that up when compared to other trading days.
