Garvo - - - - can you get out from under that 1st guard rail - - - I doubt it.
I would recommend that the first rail go some 13 or 14" off the ground so that it IS possible to get under if necessary!
I think I'd be in the same boat even at 14". Now maybe if my wife didn't know how to cook or I was younger.....................naa, I'll still go for going over the top if I need to.
