The Snowbirds weren't in the DC formations, although several performers did both of these on the same day.  They were doing the Jones Beach show in New York and staged from there for this commemorative stuff.   This I think is what your post is from, there was just so much stuff happening on the east coast it's hard to keep track of.   Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, etc.  had flyovers and so forth too, just not with jet teams based close enough to do full displays.
