Probably not much help bit I think nit tastes like elderberry jelly. It's very good on fresh, warm homemade bread. We will make a syrup for pancakes or ice cream. Ive never heard that they were poisonous to cattle but they are kind of bitter and leave a chalky taste in your mouth.
