| Lots of things in life are potentially dangerous and some people are comfortable with some but not others. Swimming pools, bicycles, driving, guns, pesticides, beauty products, stairs, ladders, electricity, eating, the list is endless. I made a post a week or so ago about the book "in defense of sunlight" which basically says a one size fits all approach like we do now is not good. Too little sun is correlated with higher rates of cardiovascular deaths, some cancers, and other issues. Getting sunburned in your youth is associated with skin cancers, but as much sun exposure as possible without getting burnt seems to be healthy. Ironically the people with the deadliest skin cancers are those who work in offices where they are "safe" from sunlight effects. Pick what you enjoy and try to be safe at it, life isn't safe. | |
