west-byGod-Pa. | I talked to a neighbor: electrical contractor. Asked how the building trades are doing. He said ALL of them face the same problem: locating employees who can do the work & show up reliably. Says it is a real problem. Public education’s fixation on college has warped the educational system. It is not prepared to produce people who are willing to work trades with suitable skills. Too many women in charge of education: will not change for the better.
My own father-born in 1909, had to take Latin in high school because the mockery-mucks were so enamored of erudite education-and stupid as dirt. He was a farmer: they gave him nothing of what he needed to be a better farmer. | |
