Southeast Washington | Dates vary with rainfall and elevation. The Palouse north of the Snake River will be starting in about 10 days in the first, lower elevation to staying after August first in the better rainfall areas.
You are talking 6-40 inch rainfall areas and 500-3200 feet in elevation so changes like a wave.
Here is a picture I took from where we are at 3,000 feet in the Blue Mt. foothills on June 14. Looking west and under 900 feet in the distance your can see how the crop has changed then while lush and green nearby as you climb in elevation and rainfall.
Some areas have been already harvesting for a week. Starting time will vary by a month ago lots of different zones. We will be doing some Hard Red Winter wheat this next week at 1100 feet. Probable another week ana we will be able to get going on Soft White Winter wheat. Then peas will be ripe in about 10 days.
