Whatever happened to budget discipline?
I believe that the argument was: No county (local) money was used. It was all state money..... Most of the state money comes from Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, ect.... Big city money being spent in our rural Ohio.
People seem to forget that we pay state taxes too even though we live in a rural community.
Same argument has been used for building all the new schools in our area... Most of the money came from the state.... We have to use it or we will lose it.... Gas pipeline agrees to pay $$$$$$$ for the school, but a year later files with the Board of Revision for a 75% tax reduction (money that was supposed to go to the school).....
Again, the same argument: Someone else is paying for it, so lets spend it.
I must be getting old and cranky.
