 northeastern Ohio | The county engineer removed this 1872 bridge from service in 1966.
He stored the bridge until 2017 and then had it refurbished and installed at our county fairgrounds for pedestrian traffic ONLY. Cost was about $700,000 from state funding.
In 2025, the county engineer determined that it needed more beams installed underneath to strengthen it. Bids were submitted and the low bid was $389,991
We now have a beautiful pedestrian bridge that cost over $1 million dollars and is only used for one week per year.......
