Malta, Illinois
North Central Illinois is wetter than the last two or three years. Each of those years we had a pretty dry spring with a very dry June. Things rooted down well and then it started raining in July. Caught some more well timed rains in August. There were no stunted or drowned out spots like a lot of years. This lead to some real stellar yields. Things look pretty good around here but this year we do have drowned out and stunted areas that will wreak havoc on field averages. It still has the potential to be a real good crop.
