North Central Indiana | That’s all good and well and I agree with you. But now that you’ve found disease what are you going to do? My bet? You’re spraying fungicide, maybe will twice. The funds know that you will without getting up from their desk. Want to burn them? Don’t spray fungicide, don’t spray foliar, don’t do a late nitrogen application, etc etc industry wide. So while you’re correct they don’t understand the lovely process of scouting head high corn on a 95 degree day they understand that the vast majority of farmers personally want as many bushels as possible and will do what it takes to protect that. So the market is relatively stable. Because he’s right, the weather has been good and looks like it will stay that way at least for a few weeks. I know around here we needed the sun and heat, crops were soggy and yellowing. Drive around now and things are deep green and have grown a bunch just in 5 or 6 days. | |
