I'm not sure if this would work...but could you go into the 1200's Isobus settings and make sure to enable to broadcast GPS info - under universal terminal? That may not work unless you are using the hijack cable...but worth a try.
I've only messed with the JD Serial port when I want to export JD GPS over to the AgLeader display, not the other way around like you are trying.
