Subject: RE: Western corn belt

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Western rains have been hit and miss. Our forecast is definitely on the dry side through mid July. Some chances of rain but not big amounts.
One farm I have had 3” last week. I probed it yesterday. Good moisture the first 2’. Dry after that. We don’t have much reserve. This was in corn that is 3’ tall planted mid May. And had already had 1.50” or irrigation water on it since planting.
