Just out of curiosity… you post for the most part every day that ends in Y about why the nation needs ethanol… to a bunch of people who grow corn and say the same thing but really don’t have any power to do anything about it. Kinda like the beef checkoff having a meeting or a tour to promote how good beef is to people who raise beef for a living… are you catching the irony??
Have you tried your corn checkoff?? What about the general public?? How about your elected officials?? Maybe start advocating with them
I think your right. It's preaching to the choir. But its just normal. We (humans) gravitate towards what we want to hear (especially in politics). Why would I want to listen to something I don't want to hear? I force myself to read, listen to stuff that I don't think I agree with. This is good for me. I sometimes find out that their are people with differing opinions that make sense. Talking to a bunch of farmers about ethanol use truly seems to be a waste of time. I know some guys on hear do not want to hear about big oil and their lobbying efforts but its there. They have unlimited funds and will fight anything detrimental to oil use. They are in every single politician in the country. They have a muli-faceted approach to keeping it in check. Like its bad for the environment. It's bad for your engine. It's using food for fuel etc. I think proponents would be shocked at many of the other groups (lobbyists) that also use corn. There are lots of people who use corn that do not want to see the price of corn to go up because they want to make more money for themselves. Cheap corn makes lots of people a lot of money (just not us as producers) |
