Subject: RE: Base acres.

east central ND
It’s even more complicated. The local FSA explained to me it’s based on the farm number.

I have one farm number that has one landlord in it. It’s getting a small increase.

I have another farm number with my property, and my dad’s ground that I rent in it. No increase.

If my property was in its own farm number, it would most likely get a small increase.

So one land owner with “free acres” could get boned if another land owner under the same farm number has full base. There is some 15% figure they use to calculate this mess.

My impression is that for this update, the more farm numbers you have, the better.

This base acre update based on a farm number is weird. My opinion it should be based on land owner and tract number.
