Only 2 things cause blockages for up. First, backing up in the mud, simple fix, wait till it's dry, and don't back up. Second is planting seed from the combine. We haven't drill non RR beans in years, so no problems in beans or hay. I drill wheat from the combine. If you can get the combine set right it's not a problem till the box gets empty. It depends on how clean it is.

As far as operators that don't look back, it's been a long time but I understand. For setting the rate dad would always put a small amount in an go till it was empty and do the math. It helps to have someone watching the box to know when it's just now empty. That was my job. Once you get the rate figured out write it on the inside of the lid for next time.
