NW South Dakota | Several years ago I was at a high yield wheat grower panel where one of the speakers was from Washington State (I'm assuming western Washington) he had very low soil pH and no source of lime anywhere close. He trucked in pell lime and ran it through his air seeder while planting wheat. He was placing it with the seed. He had winter wheat yields well over 100 bu. I admit, I wasn't paying as much attention to what he was saying because his farming situation was so different than mine (sandy soil, pH in the low 4's, 40+ inches of rain, etc.) | |
