We butt weld, and also use socket weld fittings. Can also use Harco compression fittings. Had good luck with them. https://www.harcofittings.com/Products/Philmac/IPS-OD/#gsc.tab=0. We use the Philmac CTS fittings for 1" CTS hdpe pipe, because brass fittings cost too much.
