WOW, stuff (land rent/property taxes, diesel/gas, fertilizer, parts, labor & ROI) must be cheap in your neck of woods. OR it's a loss leader for some other enterprises.
My 1st is $8 a bale, with later cuttings at $10 a bale for the last 3 years. I probably should've raised my price some this year with the increase of diesel & fertilizer.
