WC IL | Had a seed customer about 10 years ago who did an 80 acre population study. Planted about April 10. Repeated strips planted at 70, 90, 110, 130, 150. 32 row 20" planter. Cut the center 40' of each strip. Conventional tillage. IIRC, the highest yield consistently was from the 110 planted population. Final stands were about 83% of planted across the board. Lowest yields came from the lowest and highest planted population. | |
