| Last years intense southern rust pressure made for the severe contrast between green corn and dead corn. It was an unusual situation that exposed many many things. I have posted just a small sampling of the pictures that I took from Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri. In all my years in ag I have never seen soybeans subject to such disease pressure that they would show the same visual response. So yes, my pictures are hand-selected pictures of corn. ABSOLUTELY.
Literally ANYONE that is involved in agriculture that went up flying around and looking at crops late last summer KNOWS that the pictures I have posted are an accurate representation of what was seen in the fields ALL ACROSS the Midwest. People that farm in the hills and had the opportunity to see the slopes also know that this situation is widespread. To have no knowledge of this is not a reflection on your character, but rather just a lack of knowledge and awareness. If you don’t have the opportunity to go up and look around across a window of time you likely wouldn’t see such things in your NE Illinois topography. Last fall a person could fly from Indianapolis to Omaha at 2000’ in small overlapping circles and take pictures of streaked up crops the ENTIRE trip. I’m guessing we went up at least once a week for probably six weeks just looking around, overwhelmed by what we were seeing.
If I were to share 4-500 pictures of streaked corn via a photo hosting website perhaps that would help in your understanding and disbelief?
